Protecting the company, its people and its name
A company is exposed in three places at once: its people when they travel, its information when competitors want it, and its reputation when someone decides to damage it. Corporate clients of the Bank have one counterpart for all three.
As with the Bank’s Concierge & Security service for private clients, the Bank does not pretend to do everything itself. It defines the task with the company, selects the licensed specialists best placed to carry it out, briefs and supervises them, and remains accountable until the matter is closed. The company deals with the Bank, and what it learns stays with the Bank.
What the service covers
Executives on the road
Travel risk assessment before every trip to higher-risk destinations, vetted transport and accommodation, close protection officers licensed in the country of deployment, protective drivers, and journey management with check-in points. Armed protection, where the situation calls for it, is organised in addition on site through locally licensed officers. Female officers are available on request.
Defence against corporate espionage
Technical sweeps of boardrooms, executive offices, vehicles and hotel rooms for listening devices and hidden cameras; protection of deal rooms and sensitive negotiations; review of how confidential information leaves the company, through people, devices or partners; insider-risk programmes designed with the company’s counsel.
Defamation and disinformation campaigns
Early detection of coordinated campaigns across news, social media and review platforms; analysis of who is behind them and how they spread; preservation of evidence that holds up in court; and a response planned with the company’s lawyers and communications advisers, from corrections and takedown requests to injunctions.
Counterparty and integrity due diligence
Know who you are dealing with before you sign: background and integrity checks on counterparties, agents, distributors, joint-venture partners and acquisition targets, including ownership, sanctions exposure, litigation and reputation, through licensed investigators.
Litigation support and asset tracing
Investigation of fraud, theft of trade secrets and breach of contract; tracing of assets across jurisdictions for recovery, in cooperation with the company’s counsel and within the procedural rules of the courts concerned.
Crisis response
Kidnap, extortion, cyber extortion, threats against staff, civil unrest or natural disaster: one call starts the response. Specialist teams search for and recover missing staff, extract them from danger and evacuate them by land, sea or air; insurers’ crisis consultants, incident-response firms, lawyers and, wherever possible, the authorities are brought together from the first hour.
Your money is safe with us. So is your company.
Protection that begins at the account: these services are available to corporate clients of the Bank alongside the assignments described above.
Code word and silent alarm for payments
For large or unusual payments the Bank calls an authorised signatory back and asks for the agreed code word. A second code word, given under pressure, sounds like an ordinary confirmation but stops the payment and starts the agreed emergency protocol at once. With the company’s prior consent and that of the signatories, the call is also analysed for signs of stress in the voice, as an additional signal that can raise the alarm on its own account.
A second look before the company pays
Before a large payment goes to a new supplier or changed bank details, the Bank checks invoice, recipient and account on request. It is the defence against forged invoices, so-called CEO fraud and calls from a voice that only sounds like the chairman.
Early warning about the company and its executives
Sanctions lists, the risk databases banks consult, the press and data leaks are watched for the company, its owners and its directors, so that the company hears of a listing or a campaign from us first.
Correction of the record
False listings, confusion with another company, closed proceedings still shown as open and untrue publications are corrected through admitted lawyers: clarification files accepted by other banks’ compliance departments, correction requests to database providers, delisting proceedings, removal of unlawful content and action against untrue reports. We correct what is false, outdated or unlawful; we do not conceal what is true, and the Bank cannot assist a party lawfully subject to sanctions.
Risk briefings and training
Briefings on the countries where the company operates or sends staff, and training for executives and assistants in travel security, kidnap prevention and the social-engineering techniques used to obtain payments and information.
Within the law, always
Every assignment is lawful, proportionate and documented. Providers are licensed where the law requires it and bound by data-protection, employment and privacy law. There is no covert surveillance of private individuals, no pretexting, no hacking and no access to information the company is not entitled to; employees are monitored only where the law permits and the company’s own policies provide for it. Findings are delivered in a form that can be used before a court or a regulator. The Bank declines any assignment it could not defend before either.
How an assignment runs
A confidential conversation with the company’s management or counsel defines the task.
Scope, method, providers and cost are set out in writing before anything begins.
The selected specialists carry out the work under the Bank’s supervision.
The company receives the findings and the recommended next steps, documented for later use.
What it costs
Security work is priced by the task, not by the hour on an open meter. Every assignment has a written scope and price before it starts.
